Passion and Experience:
Erin Omba is the newest addition to the Opportunity Barks Team. Erin is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers who left a career in business management in June 2006 in order to dedicate herself full time to her new daughter and her new career...dogs!
Education:
A UVa graduate with a BA in Psychology, Erin is a devout student of the principles behind canine learning and behavior modification. She is a firm believer in the effectiveness of positive training methods and avidly seeks opportunities to further expand her understanding of canine behavior. She is currently pursuing her requirements to become a Certified Pet Dog Trainer.
Commitment to Community:
Erin's work with dogs began in 2002, as a volunteer for a local mixed-breed rescue organization. While volunteering as an adoption counselor, she was responsible for educating new dog guardians about dog behavior, problem prevention and good manners- to ensure that each family had the best chance for a positive experience with their new four-legged family member.
Erin's own four-legged companions include two mixed-breed dogs and a cat.
