Passion and Experience:
Rebecca Gall brings a wealth of experience in animal sheltering and problem solving to the table. Rebecca has been working at a local animal shelter as the Adoptions Manager for almost three years. At the shelter, among her many responsibilities- she performs behavior evaluations, plays match-maker for people and pets, trains volunteers and staff, provides post-adoption support to help new dog and cat adopters and also offers advice and counseling to the public with problems concerning their own pets.
Education:
Rebecca is a graduate of James Madison University with a BA in Business Administration and Marketing. She is always seeking opportunities to learn about animal behavior and was able to foster this interest at JMU when introduced to issues of animal cruelty and neglect in the Honors Program's class in Animal Welfare. Currently, she is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and is pursuing her requirements to become a Certified Pet Dog Trainer.
Commitment to Community:
Rebecca's work with animals began in 2001 as a volunteer for a local rescue group, where she fostered dogs waiting for their permanent homes. Then in 2004, her passion to help homeless animals and dedication to animal welfare led her from the world of event planning to pursue a career in Animal Sheltering. Clearly her work in Sheltering is all about giving back to the animals and the community, which Opportunity Barks supports whole-heartedly.
Rebecca's own four-legged companion includes her hunky, handsome black lab, Albert.
