What is it like to be a Farm Dog?

What is the cost?

  • The Farm Dog Ready Training Program is $1250/week for a set number of weeks. The program length is determined by our Farm Dog team on your dog’s Evaluation day. Most dogs need 2-3 weeks in the program.

  • When your dog graduates from the training portion of the program, we welcome them back for membership and continued attendance. Based on your dog’s training progression and overall temperament, our Farm Dog team will assign a membership status: Mentor or Enrichment.

Our Mentor Members have full pack access and work to help future program pups learn the ropes. ($80/day)

Our Enrichment Members prefer smaller group hikes, are intact, or need some more fine-tuning around distractions. ($100/day)

Structure of Training Program

The program begins with a day-long evaluation where we can spend time getting to know your pup, acclimate them to the farm, and create a customized training plan. We then welcome your pup back to the farm Tuesday through Friday for full days of foundations training, pack acclimation and e-collar recall training.

This program includes 4 training days at the farm (Tuesday through Friday) for 2-3 weeks + 1 private lesson per week.

At the end of each farm day, we’ll send adventure albums with daily photo and video updates, and you’ll have access to our video library and community support forum.

Please note that your pup must be able to hang out in a crate during downtime to enroll in this program. Additionally, your pup should be comfortable around other dogs and with multiple handlers.

When your dog graduates from the training portion of the program, we welcome them back for membership and continued attendance.

What does the pack do during a Farm Day?

Upon arrival at the farm, pups are either crated briefly while everyone gets situated and vans are unloaded, or they hang out in our fenced paddock for group play as we gear up for group hikes on the fully-fenced 10-acre farm.

We always have one hike in the morning and another in the afternoon, and often more, as long as there are no temperature constraints.

Outside of the group hikes, dogs are running and romping in the paddock or the nearby field, always monitored and supervised by our full-time trainers and handlers.

At lunchtime, the pack gets crated for downtime to reset before more afternoon hikes and play.

In the summer, we also take trips to the creek on our property so everyone can splash around and cool off. Dogs under our care receive breaks and decompression time when needed for overarousal, overstimulation, temperature/weather constraints, or when just plain ‘ole tired!

At the end of the day, we load up the city vans, gather everyone's belongings, and prep for pick-up.
